カメラ内蔵型携帯電話の高機能化に伴い，より小型化したカメラモジュールが求められている。今回，クラムシェル型携帯電話機ヒンジ部（10mmφ）へ内蔵可能な，チップスタック型による業界最小クラスの0.25cc超小型ワンパッケージCMOSセンサカメラモジュールを開発した。
当社は，昨年業界に先駆け，「CMOSイメージセンサ」，「DSP（Digital Signal Processor：ディジタル信号処理デバイス）」，「周辺チップ部品」をワンパッケージ化した容積0.6ccのCMOSセンサカメラモジュールの量産を開始している。今回，回路の最適化による周辺部品の容量低減と部品点数の削減，更にチップスタック方式を用いることによって容積比1/2以下の0.25cc（外形サイズ：7mm×6.5mm×5.58mm）を達成した。
Recently the miniaturized camera module has been expected to advance the function of the camera built-in type portable telephone. For such market conditions, we have developed the very small CMOS camera module that can be built in the hinge part (10mmφ) of a clam-shell type portable telephone. It is just 0.25cc in capacity to be the smallest-class in the industry, using our own chip-stacked assembly technology. Last year, Sharp Corporation took the initiative in manufacturing the CMOS sensor camera module with a capacity of 0.6cc that formed a CMOS image sensor, a Digital Signal Processor, and some peripheral chip components into the single package. And now, the development of our own new assembly technology, the miniaturized components from the optimized circuit design and the reduction in peripheral components have realized the just 0.25cc (7mm×6.5mm×5.58mm) camera module whose capacity is less than half of the conventional module.
