録再DVDとHDDとの複合機の第一段として，ディジタルハイビジョンレコーダ（DV-HRD1）を開発した。商品コンセプトと技術的な特長について紹介する。ディスクシステム用プラットフォーム（PF）として，HD版（Hi-Definition），SD版，モバイル用の３種を構築し，それを各種商品に応用していく計画である。本商品は，HD版の第一世代PFを応用したものである。本稿では，HD版PFのハードウェアとソフトウェアにおける技術的な特長について概説する。
We have successfully developed a Digital Hi-vision Recorder (DV-HRD1)
as our first step for introducing integrated systems equipped with both
DVD-RW and HDD. We have prepared three types of disk system platform(PF),
HD edition (Hi-Definition), SD edition (Standard-Definition) and Mobile
edition for various kinds of disk system product. The DV-HRD1 system uses
the first generation PF of the HD edition. This paper describes the product
concept and the technical features concerning hardware setup and the system
control software.
