It can be felt in various aspects of our daily lives that an information-oriented
society has finally become a reality. The internet-based communication
is likely to continue its expansion. Broadband access networks, wireless
networks and the ongoing process of convergence of broadcasting and telecommunications,
together with faster backbones, will bring us a new mobile lifestyle.
This article describes software and service platforms that will be the
key elements of such new user-oriented network services.
